Death
over life?
In the United States, there are a variety of un-American
laws; too many to name. After going through and analyzing all the laws we have,
I’ve come to the conclusion that there is one specific law that is outrageous. Abortion
is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy. There is a ratio of 1 out
of 3 women in the U.S. that have an abortion by the time they are 45. This is a
quote from the Georgia Right to Life organization, “Our goal is full legal
protection for all innocent human life from creation to natural death.” This
says that what they are trying to do is protect all innocent human life in
order for them to have a natural death just like their own natural creation.
It’s made to stop people from killing. Abortion is murder. It’s taking
someone’s life away, but why do people still abort? Why is this even legal?
Since when is it perfectly fine to take someone’s life away?
In my religion there
are Ten Commandments. In those Ten Commandments there is one specific one that
clearly says, “You shall not murder.” In my opinion, having an abortion is
murdering; it’s simply just taking someone’s life. Is it not? If so, how isn’t
it? In Georgia there is right to life, right? Well abortion isn’t giving the
human being the right to life. Everyone deserves to live. Everyone has the
right to make what they want of themselves. Abortion is not letting the human
being do that. “But now I must affirm that it is just as wrong, or even more
so, to use moral means to preserve immoral ends.” (Letter from Birmingham City
Jail, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 180) This quote means that it is wrong or
even more wrong to use the ‘correct’ action to cover up the bad one. In further
meaning, it means that it’s wrong to use abortion as a solution to your
actions. You, as a person, have the right to do whatever you want and that is
understood, but no one ever said it was okay to take someone’s life away. Nothing
about this situation is right and no matter what anyone ever says, it never
will be. However, there are women out there that aren’t able to afford a child,
I guess you could say, but that problem has a solution. Adoption is always
available. People make mistakes but a child isn’t one. If you didn’t want to go
through something like that, you should have stopped yourself before putting
yourself in it. After putting yourself in a situation like this, it is time to
grow up and take responsibility for your actions. On the other hand, a girl
getting sexually abused is present as well. If I were to ever be put into a
situation like that, I would feel terrible but never in my mind would killing
that child cross my mind. Just like I have to right to life, so does that
child. No one deserves to be treated the way a child getting aborted does. “Let
us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate.” (Inaugural
Address, John F. Kennedy, 198) A girl should not be afraid to talk to others
about her situation; she should never ‘negotiate out of fear but never fear to
negotiate’. Going back to what was said before, adoption is always open. Having
the choice to be either dead or alive waiting for the right parents to come and
welcome you into their home, what would you choose? I believe that the majority
of us would definitely choose being alive. Wouldn’t you? There are millions of
couples out there hoping to adopt a child because they can’t have one of their
own. These options do exist. Wouldn’t you pity your family if they chose to
kill you? Things like these aren’t okay. Murder is illegal so why do it? Is my thesis strong and clear?
Is it supported well?
Did i conclude my paper well?
Am i a strong or weak writer?
Do you agree or disagree with my essay? Why or why not?
